SMEARS - Please don’t ignore your next smear invite.  If you missed your last smear test, contact us to find a time that suits you.  All women aged 25-64 across Scotland are invited to have a cervical screening test every three years from age 25-49 and every five years from age 50-64.

Dr Philip Kiln (m)



BSc MB BS (London 1991) MRCGP DRCOG

Dr Kiln has been a Partner at Riverside Medical Practice since 1996.

He has lead responsibility at Riverside for training of qualified doctors in the speciality of General Practice.

He additionally undertakes acupuncture on selected conditions.


Dr Iain Kennedy (m)



Dr Kennedy is the Executive Partner of the practice.  With Dr Henderson (Chair) and Mr Andrew Grist (General Manager) he ensures the practice delivers high quality, efficient healthcare to patients.

An occupational physician for various organisations, Dr Kennedy undertakes seafarer medicals (ENG1) for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency. 

Dr Kennedy is currently the Highland Local Medical Committee Medical Secretary and represents doctors via the British Medical Association (BMA) in Scotland, and at UK level.  He has served as a Non-Executive Director of the Board of NHS Highland, and as Chair of the Area Clinical Forum.

Dr Kennedy has researched flu immunisation uptake, receiving a Master’s from Aberdeen University.  In 2020, he was awarded Fellowship of the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management

Dr Andrea Henderson (f)


MBChB (Aberdeen 1993) FRCGP DRCOG DFSRH DOccMed

Dr Henderson has additional experience in the fitting of contraceptive coils.

An occupational physician for various organisations, she also undertakes seafarer medicals (ENG1) for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.  Dr Henderson became qualified to undertake Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS) medicals in April 2017.

Dr Henderson has been a Partner since 2002.


Dr Anna Mills (f)


MA MB BChir (Cambridge 2006) MRCGP DRCOG DTM&H DFSRH

Dr Mills joined the practice in 2013 as a salaried doctor, and has been a Partner since October 2014. She has particular interests in women’s health and family planning, and holds a regular minor surgery clinic. She is also involved in the training of GP trainees.


Dr Paul McMullan (m)



MB ChB (Aberdeen 2009) MRCGP PGDipSEM


Dr McMullan first joined the practice as a GP Trainee in 2011 and has been a Partner since 2016.


His interests include Sports Medicine, minor surgery, joint injections and HGV/DVLA medicals. Dr McMullan is the First Team Doctor for Inverness Caledonian Thistle Football Club (ICTFC). 


Dr McMullan enjoys the contrasting rural and urban demands of general practice, working in both Riverside and Cromarty Medical Practices. He works alongside NHS Highland to help deliver high quality patient care as one of the District Medical Leads for Inverness.

Dr Linda Thurlow-White (f)


Dr Thurlow-White is originally from Contin and returned to the Highlands for her first GP job, joining the team as a salaried Doctor in February 2018 and becoming a Partner in January 2020.  She currently works across both Cromarty and Riverside Practices.

Her special interests include Gynaecology , Sexual &Reproductive Healthcare, Paediatrics & Neonatology and Remote & Rural Healthcare.  She has worked with NHSH, and alongside Dr McMullan, as District Medical lead for Mid-Ross since April 2019.

Dr Thurlow-White has a Diploma from the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare and is certified in the fitting of contraceptive coils and implants, and is also trained to perform joint injections. 

Dr Iain McNab (m)

Partner IM

Dr McNab was trained as a GP in Riverside Medical Practice and became a salaried GP in 2017. 

Dr McNab undertakes HGV medicals in the practice and is also Clinical Lead of the OOH service in Inverness and Invergordon.

Dr McNab joined Riverside Medical Practice as a Partner in January 2020.

His normal working week is Monday, Tuesday (afternoon), Thursday and Friday.

Dr Duncan Goudie (m)

MBChB (Aberdeen) 2009, MRCGP.
Dr Goudie trained as a GP in the Highlands and Islands. He joined the practice in March 2013 as a GP trainee and as a GP from 2016. He works as a SCOTGEM tutor for medical students and supervises Foundation Year 2 doctors. He works Mondays and Fridays.

Dr Milton trained as a GP in the Highlands and Islands. She joined the practice in March 2017 as a salaried GP. She works Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Dr Catherine Brown (f)

Dr Brown joined the Practice in February 2020. Originally from the Black Isle, she did her GP training in Shetland where she worked as a GP for a couple of years, working with a special interest in obstetrics, before relocating to the Highlands in 2019.

Working for the out of hours service and a new member of the Highland PICT (pre-hospital immediate care and trauma) Team, Dr Brown works across the three practice sites (Riverside, Cromarty, Foyers). She is usually in Riverside on a Thursday.
Dr Katie Tabner (f)

Dr Tabner trained as a GP in the Highlands and joined the practice in April 2020. Her previous training includes three years in Anaesthetics and Intensive Care Medicine prior to a sabbatical volunteering in two remote rescue posts in the Nepalese Himalayas. She has been a Race Doctor for ultramarathons in the UK and France, an Expedition Doctor on two occasions to Everest Base Camp and is a previous Faculty Member of World Extreme Medicine. Her special interests include High Altitude and Travel Medicine however at home, clinical interests include Women's Health and Lifestyle Medicine. Outside work, she enjoys trail running, mountain biking and distance triathlon.

Dr Tabner works Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays

GP Registrar/Pre-Registration House Officer

We are a training practice and we normally have a GP Registrar with us completing his/her general practice training, and a pre-registration house officer undergoing supervision in their first year of employment. Our current GP Registrar is Dr Pei Ang (Year 3).
