In Your Home
If you are unable to leave your
home and come to the Practice, then
we will come and see you at home.
However the travelling can take a
long time and we have a greater
range of examination facilities at
the Practice, so we do appreciate it
if you can come and see us. The vast
majority of problems - acute and
chronic - are best seen at the
surgery.
If you would like us to visit then
please contact us before 10 am if
possible so we can plan our day. If
you request a visit the Receptionist
will ask you to speak to one of the
Doctors to assess the urgency and
necessity of the visit. We can
of course be contacted at any time
in an emergency.
Other Support
In Your Home
If you require some help at home
with e.g. getting around, organising
meals, friendly support, you can
contact the Social Work Department
or Occupational
Health Department. The WRVS may also
be available to help you with
transport where necessary and
Volunteering Highland offer a
variety of help.
WRVS
The local WRVS is based in Kenneth
Street. They can help you with
queries
about their meals on wheels service,
lunch clubs and can help with social
transport to day care centres.
Transport
Transport to Hospital
If you need ambulance or
ambulance car transport to hospital
then you must tell our Receptionist
at least 2 working days before your
appointment or admission day.
Ambulance control will need the
details of where you are going,
which clinic and time of your
appointment. You will be asked to
confirm the pick-up address and
whether you need anyone to go with
you.
Our receptionist will simply pass
this information on to ambulance
control who then organise this.
If you have any complaints or
suggestions to make about this
service please contact this
department directly on 01463 235789.
Volunteer Patient Transport Scheme
The volunteer patient transport
scheme is available for people who,
for a variety of reasons, are unable
to access public transport or who
are unable to use taxis to get to
the surgery.
This is a service provided by
volunteer drivers. The service can
be contacted on 226662. The office
is open between 9.30 am and 1.00 pm
Monday to Friday. Outside these
times there is an answer phone.
Please Note: There is a
charge to patients who use this
service. |
